About

Hey there,

Originally from a traditional publishing background, I am obsessed with the mysterious world of Indie Publishing.

I learned a lot from the trad route, especially about viewing your writing as a product and objective editing. I enjoyed a small taste of success in the form of a book launch parties and seeing my books in shops. I did school and library visits, panel discussions, seminars and talks. It was everything I wanted, but it was also slow. So painfully, painfully slow...

Indie publishing is different. I have a background in Graphic Design and an interest in publishing anyway, so when I realised you could control as much of the process as you want, I couldn't help having a dabble. It allowed me to experiment in different genres, publish under other names and just play!

But I've reached the stage where I want to start out fresh with a nice, clean Amazon algorithm. I am also trying to expand my skills base, so I'm currently doing a BA in Creative Writing with Falmouth University.

Anyway, that's a little snapshot of me. Here's a pic of from way back in 1983, as a thirteen year old writing fantasy and horror short stories on a my teeny, tiny Silver Reed typewriter. I was convinced that one day I'd be a full time writer. Nearly forty years later, that's still the dream.
